Brought together in Paris on May 28, 2026, the winners of the PEPR Digital Health call for proposals presented their work during a launch day held at the Biopark auditorium. The agenda focused on artificial intelligence, modeling, heterogeneous health data, and new approaches to support medical decision-making.

A preview of research to come

Digital twins to better understand the progression of certain diseases, artificial intelligence models to process complex data, decision-support tools to personalize care: the launch day for the winning projects of the PEPR Digital Health program offered a concrete preview of the research that will be conducted in the coming years.

Coordinated by Inserm and Inria as part of France 2030, the program supports 16 new projects at the interface of biomedical research, digital science, and clinical practice. On May 28, their teams gathered in Paris to present their scientific objectives and initial directions.

A wide range of application areas

The presentation sessions covered a broad range of applications: neurological diseases, cancer, heart failure, inflammatory diseases, disability, surgical pathways, and postoperative follow-up. Behind this diversity, a common thread emerges: making better use of health data, often heterogeneous and multi-scale, to develop models that can support both research and healthcare professionals.

Digital twins take center stage

The event also highlighted the growing role of digital twins, which can simulate the evolution of an organ, a disease, or a care pathway. Several projects rely on these approaches to anticipate trajectories, test therapeutic hypotheses, or improve treatment personalization.

From project selection to rollout

Beyond the scientific presentations, one session focused on the project monitoring procedures led by the French National Research Agency (ANR), as well as the support provided within the program. This marks an important step from project selection to operational implementation
